Trailmark: GPS Location Logger

Effective Date: May 5, 2026

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the collection, use, and storage of your information when you use Trailmark: GPS Location Logger, an app that lets you log your GPS location at custom intervals, mark your trails, and view them on a built-in map.
1

Information Collection and Identity

We believe in minimizing data collection. To use our application, no login is required, and no user identification is needed. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personally identifiable information.

2

Location Tracking and Background Operations

Trailmark requires access to your device's location to function properly. When you press Start Tracking, the app begins logging your GPS coordinates at intervals you set. While location tracking is active, the app displays a persistent notification so you are always informed when your location is being accessed in the background. This aligns strictly with Google Play policies for user transparency.

3

Activity Recognition

Trailmark detects your physical activity state, such as whether you are still, walking, or running, to provide context alongside your tracked trails. This data is used solely for app functionality and is stored only on your device. It is not transmitted to any external servers or shared with third parties.

4

Local Data Storage Only

Your trail data, GPS coordinates, activity data, and map data are saved exclusively on your device. We do not transmit or upload your location data to any external servers. What you track stays on your device.

5

User Control and Data Deletion

You retain complete control over your information. You can freely delete all your saved location data at any time directly through the application. Once deleted, the data is permanently removed from your device.

6

Third-Party Services

Trailmark uses the following third-party services that may collect certain device and usage data automatically. This data is governed by their respective privacy policies and is used solely for the purposes described below.

Firebase and Google Analytics — Used to understand how users interact with the app. These services may collect app usage data, device identifiers, and diagnostic information. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Crashlytics (Firebase) — Used to detect and report app crashes so we can improve stability. It may collect crash logs, device model, OS version, and app version. No personally identifiable information is collected.

Advertising SDK — The app may display ads through a third-party advertising SDK. This SDK may collect device identifiers and general usage data to serve relevant advertisements. You can opt out of personalized ads through your device settings.

7

Children's Privacy

Our application is designed to comply with all applicable privacy regulations. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The third-party SDKs we use (Firebase, Crashlytics, and our advertising SDK) operate under their own policies and collect only non-identifiable diagnostic and usage data.

8

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. We encourage you to review this page periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the application after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the updated policy.
